Terms of Service
Applies to joinourwedding.site and its wedding sites. Last updated: .
1. The service
Join Our Wedding lets couples and their organizing teams publish a wedding website, manage guests, RSVPs, tasks, budgets and announcements, and accept contributions, song bids and other paid extras from guests. The service is operated by [operator legal name — to be confirmed]. By creating an account or using a wedding site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Accounts and roles
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You may sign in with email and password or with Google.
- New accounts start with the client role. Organizer, Admin and Owner permissions are granted and enforced by the service; you may not attempt to bypass them.
- Couples are responsible for who they invite to their organizing team and for the content they publish.
3. Content and conduct
You keep ownership of the content you upload and give us permission to host and display it to run your wedding site. Do not upload content you do not have rights to, or that is unlawful, misleading or abusive, and do not publish other people's private information without consent. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these terms.
4. Payments, fees and payouts
- Providers. Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Paystack and Safaricom M-Pesa). Their terms also apply. Which payment methods appear depends on the wedding's currency and the providers configured by the platform.
- Confirmation. A contribution, bid or paid extra counts only after the provider confirms it to our server. Redirects, pop-ups or "request sent" messages are not proof of payment.
- Platform fees. The service may charge a publication fee and a commission on guest payments. Applicable fees are shown before you publish or pay; current rates: [to be confirmed].
- Payouts. Couples may request withdrawal of settled net funds (payments less fees, refunds, disputes, holds and approved expenses) after payout verification of both partners. Payouts may be held while a refund, dispute or verification is pending.
- Test mode. Payments currently run in test/sandbox mode; no real money is collected or paid out until live payments are enabled.
5. Refunds and disputes
- Guest contributions and bids are generally gifts to the couple. Refund requests should first go to the couple; refunds are issued through the original payment provider.
- When a provider confirms a refund, it is recorded against the wedding's balance. How fees are treated follows the policy in effect when the payment was made (the couple absorbs the refund, the platform returns its original fee proportionally, or manual review).
- If a payer opens a dispute or chargeback, the disputed amount is held. If the dispute is lost it is deducted from the couple's balance; if it is won the hold is released.
6. Sponsors
Sponsors may bid for featured placements. Sponsored placements are always labelled as sponsored. Sponsors are responsible for the accuracy of their listing, and we may decline or remove listings.
7. Assistant and AI features
Assistant features (including the WhatsApp assistant) produce suggestions and drafts for organizers to review. They may be inaccurate. Nothing is applied, sent or paid until an authorized organizer approves it, and the assistant cannot approve payments or payouts. WhatsApp features require an official WhatsApp Business number set up by the organizers.
8. Wedding archive
To protect guests' contributions and financial records, weddings cannot be permanently deleted from the dashboard; they can be unpublished and archived. You can request deletion of personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for wedding vendors, venues, guests' or couples' conduct, or third-party providers' services. Liability limits and governing law: [to be confirmed].
10. Ending use
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put other users or payments at risk, while keeping records needed for pending payments, refunds or disputes.
11. Changes
We may update these terms and will revise the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: [contact — to be confirmed]. Until a contact is published, please use the feedback option on joinourwedding.site.
